The Challenge

Client Requirements

ID Agency is an experiential marketing agency. For one of their client campaigns, we were asked to provide temporary internet access for a bus travelling across the UK promoting the latest ‘My Little Pony’ movie. Access was required whilst on the move, and when stopped at its various destinations of the tour, for the production team to promote and broadcast the campaign activity.

Foreseen Challenges

The bus needed roaming connectivity for multiple computers and devices onboard, required by the event production team. The solution had to provide internet connection 100% of the time, whilst the bus was in transit and at location stops. The tour ran for several months, requiring support which needed to be remote, without any physical presence, throughout the duration of the campaign.

The Solution

Solution Proposed

Our temporary WiFi service included a dual WAN unit for resilience, configured with a branded network name and various low level application restrictions. The solution was designed to choose the best network dependent on the location of the bus, to provide the best connectivity speeds to the team.

Installation Process

The solution was designed at HQ following discussions with the build team, ready to be shipped to site and installed on the bus by the customer. A simple plug and play solution meant that no technical experience was required by the client.

Support Given

Fli-Fi offered a full managed service which included remote online support. This meant we could always be in control of the WiFi solution regardless of its location.


The team was connected to the internet within a few minutes of plugging in the WiFi solution. The quality of connectivity remained high throughout the tour, even at the most remote of locations, due to the in-built roaming capability. The client was delighted with the solution, not having to worry about the connectivity throughout the course of the campaign, and reassured by the fact support could be provided remotely on demand.
