Reliable internet connectivity is essential on modern construction sites, but not every location offers a straightforward solution. When a major construction company needed temporary Wi-Fi for a large development in central London, they were initially told that their site couldn’t be supported without installing an expensive fibre connection.
Fortunately, Fli-Fi had a different approach.
The Challenge
The client required reliable connectivity across nine floors of a central London construction site, with the project expected to remain in its build phase for up to four years.
Their existing supplier had advised that temporary connectivity wasn’t viable and that installing a dedicated fibre line was the only option, bringing significant additional costs.
With a long construction programme ahead, the client needed a solution that was not only reliable but also flexible enough to adapt as the building progressed.
The Fli-Fi Solution
Rather than accepting that fibre was the only answer, our team visited the site to carry out a detailed survey and explore alternative connectivity options.
Following our assessment, we identified a satellite-based solution capable of supporting connectivity across all nine floors of the development.
Crucially, the solution provides the flexibility to adapt as the project evolves. As construction progresses and the requirements of the site change, the connectivity infrastructure can be adjusted to continue meeting the needs of the workforce.
By taking the time to understand the client’s requirements, we were able to deliver a practical alternative to the costly fibre installation originally proposed.
